The Secret Garden

Your host’s tropical ancestral home was built by his grandfather in the mid-19^th century, secluded an hour from Kandy.  He will greet you at the hilltop retreat and guide you on a pleasant walk through the 45 acre estate affording striking foothill views.  A little different to standard garden visits in Kandy, there is the chance to see forest animals including wild boar, macaque monkeys, barking deer and porcupines.  Hear stories of the historic plantation as you pass cinnamon, vanilla, pepper, rubber and spice plots.  End with a Planter’s lunch from an open wood fire with your host, his partner and perhaps a Gin and Tonic
