Southern Laos produces some of the finest coffee in the world which you can discover for yourself on a unique vintage jeep tour.
tour description
At 7:30 hours, pick up from the hotel and transfer by car or minivan to Paksong. Arrive at Paksong and stop for a half-hour coffee break and to transfer to the jeep. Continue to visit Tad Moun waterfall and some local vegetable fields. The drive continues to the coffee farm on the bumpy and muddy road (in rainy season). Arrive at the coffee farm around noon and enjoy lunch. After lunch, watch Mr Khamsone demonstrate, the coffee roasting steps (about 1 hour). Finish by tasting the coffee and savour the different kinds - Robusta, Arabica and Typica.
Leave the coffee plantation and drive for around an hour to visit a Laven village. Here, the guide talks about their agriculture, culture, and livelihood. Drive a further 30-minutes to a Suay village and visit the traditional houses. In this village, discover the bamboo houses and other traditional houses. A home generally only has one room that is used for cooking, eating and sleeping.
Leave the village and return to Pakse and transfer to the hotel. Arrive around 18:30 hours.
