tour description

An enjoyable multi activity day out from Chiang Mai, aimed at families.

Depart Chiang Mai for the 90 minute drive to Hmong Hilltribe Lodge at 900m altitude. After a quick refreshment stop, meet your local guide and choose between the 1, 2 or 3 hour hike, either around the Lodge or down from Moncham peak if the 3 hour option. The scenery is particularly impressive during the monsoon season with intense vegetable cultivation followed by strawberries in November. Moncham peak is popular with local Thais in Winter to see the mist over the valley and feel the chill at 1350m!

Return for a quick swim if you wish followed by lunch at Hmong Hill tribe Lodge.

In the afternoon drive an hour over Moncham peak to Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens. This is a 900 hectare garden with 12 glasshouses and a 500m long canopy walk.

On the way back to Chiang Mai stop at Elephant Poo Paper Park, an eco-friendly, naturally built, outdoor museum park focused on introducing and explaining the unique steps involved in making our world famous paper products from elephant poo fibers. Extremely well done and supported by WWF, it has a great caf'e9, shop and plenty of opportunities for hands on fun during the whole process.

Good hiking shoes are advised.
