Beginning your tour at the Royal Selangor Pewter Factory, you’ll learn how pure tin, antimony and copper are fashioned into stylish items. You’ll also be enrolled in the factory’s ‘school of hard knocks’ to make your own pewter masterpiece! Next stop is the Thean Hou Chinese Temple. Built in 1987 by the Hainanese Chinese community in Kuala Lumpur, the temple is dedicated to the Goddess Tian Hou (the Heavenly Mother) and incorporates elements of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.

Tour begins with a 30 minutes journey to the Royal Selangor Pewter Factory. Observe how pure tin, antimony and copper are fashioned into exquisite and stylish items like table ware, jewelry, dinner sets, figurines, art pieces'85etc. This is the largest & most modern pewter factory in the world, reputed internationally for its high quality products & craftsmanship. Guests will be shown the different processes of pewter making such as casting, filling, polishing, soldering, hammering & engraving during this factory tour. After this, you will be enrolled to the pewter's School of Hard Knocks to make your own pewter masterpiece! Using just a few simple tools, you will make your own personalized pewter dish with step by step guidance from an experienced pewter smith. You will be taught the processes of forming, scrapping, polishing & packing. Your masterpiece dish & the School of Hard Knocks apron are yours to keep at the end of the session, exclusive to all participants to this school! Royal Selangor pewter factory will also award you with a certificate for your fun filled half hour one-of-a-kind handmade masterpiece dish!
Tour continues to Thean Hou Chinese Temple. The temple was built in 1987 by the Hainanese Chinese community living in Kuala Lumpur & dedicated to the Goddess Tian Hou - the Heavenly Mother. This syncretism temple with elements of Buddhism, Taoism & Confucianism is a grandiose structure and represents a successful combination of modern architectural techniques and authentic traditional designs, featuring imposing pillars, spectacular roofs, ornate carvings and intricate embellishments.
