tour details

Street food is everywhere in Vietnam. It’s fresh, fast and rich in flavours.

17:00 hours. Hotel pick-up for an evening venture to discover the street food scene in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, where it feels like you are never further than a few metres from a street food stall or fresh food vendor. Your guide talks you through the ingredients and the different herbs of each dish, while you are crouching on tiny plastic stools in a back alley. Sample dishes like nom du du (green papaya salad with dried beef), banh mi pa te (a sandwich that reflects Vietnam’s culinary heritage) and the famous Hanoi dish bun cha (charcoal-grilled pork patties with vermicelli noodles and herbs). For dessert, you have the choice between banh troi tau (pretty mini dumplings with a chunk of palm sugar at their heart) or fresh fruit served in a cup and filled with crushed iced and condensed milk. Finish the evening with a bia hoi (a special type of draft beer) on Ta Hien Street. Unlike canned or bottled beer, this light and refreshing beer should be consumed the day after it leaves the factory.
