tour details

If there is a great way to visit Siem Reap’s countryside, just like the temples, it is definitely by cycling.
Cycling gives you the nature-experience you cannot have if you are in a tuktuk or a car as not only is it easy to cycle around but you also avoid the main roads as much as possible taking jungle paths, riding through villages, around rice fields…
On this tour, you will take an unforgettable ride through the countryside of Siem Reap, visit a remote temple, interact with locals and sail through a charming floating & stilted village.

tour description

At 07:30 hours, your mountain bikes and guide will be waiting for you at your hotel and you will depart for your adventure.
From your hotel you will reach quickly the countryside via laterite tracks, through villages and rice fields, which will take you to the ancient Royal Road to reach the lost temple of Chao Srei Vibol, a small temple located in the forest. There, you will explore the remote temple grounds and its pagoda.
Continue to Roluos where you will stop for lunch before continuing your adventure towards the Tonle Sap.
As you leave Roluos, you will stop to visit Bakong Temple, built in the latter part of the 9th century and most important temple of the Roluos Group which was once a capital of the Khmer Empire known as Hariharalaya.
Your last discovery of the day will be a wooden boat ride to the charming stilted & floating village of Kompong Phluck, on the Tonle Sap.
Depending on how energized you are, you will have the choice to either cycle back to the hotel or be transferred by your back-up vehicle.

notes

The wet season is not the ideal time for biking. The best season is from November through to April, roughly corresponding to the dry season and the tourist high season. May, June and July need not be a bad time either, as it is hard to predict when the rains will come. We would not recommend a biking trip during August and September.
