Located in central Vietnam, Hue is the former capital of Vietnam’s last dynasty and enjoys an elegant setting on the banks of the Perfume River. Founded as a royal city in 1687, Hue is known for its citadels, palaces, royal tombs and pagodas. Having preserved its cultural heritage, Hue is the perfect city to get a glimpse into imperial court life. As you explore the Imperial City, your first stop will be the Hue Citadel. Located on the banks of the Perfume River, the citadel was designed for the exclusive use of the emperor and his household and forms part of the Hue Royal Complex, which has been officially recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. You’ll conclude your tour with a visit to the Tu Duc Royal Tomb, considered to be one of Hue’s most beautiful mausoleums.
