8:30 - 9:00 hours: Pick up at your own hotel in Luang Prabang and drive about 3 hours to Ban Na Yang. Along the way enjoy the panoramic views as you journey through the Nam Ou Valley that give way to lush, green rice paddies.

You will expect to arrive at Ban Na Yang, Lue minority village, at around noon and you will enjoy a local Lao style lunch. This is an opportunity to learn more about the culture, lifestyle and traditions of these people. In the village you will see the textiles they weave and hand-made bamboo products.

After an hour for lunch you begin your interactive afternoon activity where you will learn and take part in the handicraft of weaving. Our guide will provide a presentation illustrating how cotton is hand spun and hand woven from natural cotton fibres into cotton fabric. After the presentation you will be guided to learn this skill and try your hand at weaving. Learning by doing, you will guided by a master weaver in the techniques of using a Lao traditional weaving loom. You will have the opportunity to have a go at making your own scarf.

At 16:00 hours the weaving class ends and it is time to say goodbye to the Lue weavers and drive on to the small town of Nong Khiaw. The drive takes you through stunning landscapes of green hills and cliffs as well as through villages where you will get a glimpse of rural life.
