Many tourists miss out on the rich cultural heritage of Northern Thailand. On this trip we’ll visit the elderly elephants at Thai Elephant Care Center. We’ll go to Lahu, Karen, Akha, Yao and Lisu villages to observe the distinctive ways of life of these hill-tribes. A chance to visit famed Golden Triangle, meeting point of Thailand, Laos and Burma. We’ll also visit Chiang Saen to see traces of its time as the Thai Lanna Kingdom’s first capital and enjoy boat trips on the Mekong and Kok Rivers. You’ll marvel at the unusual Fish and Monkey Cave Temple near Mae Sai and you’ll uncover the mysteries of some ancient crafts: jade cutting, making lacquerware, spinning and weaving Thai silk, and making paper umbrellas. En route we’ll relish a typical kantoke dinner.
