Learn the secrets of combing the sweet, the sour and of course the spicy (!) on a Thai cooking class.
Welcome to the Samui Institute of Thai Culinary Arts, established in 1999 and where cooking classes are conducted in our purpose-built teaching kitchens. Menus change every day of the week Monday through Saturday, and almost all recipes can be adapted for non-meat eaters and those with allergies or other dietary restrictions. The meal follows immediately after class and the fruits of your labour will be some of the most sumptuous Thai food you will have in Thailand!
For the morning class you will be collected from your hotel at approximately 10am by join in transfer (no guide) and then once at the institute the class will be between 2 - 3 hours long depending on the number of participants. Each person will make a handmade curry paste and then a full serving of three dishes. There will be a lot of food so we suggest a light breakfast this morning! The menu changes daily but some of the dishes you might learn to make are:
Homemade curry paste (such as Green, Red, Penang or Masaman) Spring rolls Spicy Glass Noodle Salad with prawns Papaya Salad Deep Fried Fish with Turmeric Pad Thai
After the class you will sit down and enjoy all the food you have prepared and cooked for lunch. Once the class is over you will return by private transfer (no guide) to your hotel arriving in the early afternoon.
