After breakfast, you will visit a local enterprise that produces palm sugar made from the sweet, watery sap that drips from cut flower buds. The sap is collected each morning and boiled in huge woks until a sticky sugar remains. Then embark into a long-tail boat and ride from the small side canals into the Mae Klong River, passing traditional style houses on both banks and plenty of palm trees.

Then you will see Khao Lam, sticky rice in bamboo tube, is not easily found at the local market in Bangkok but it's a very popular purchase from rural provinces. During a visit to a local open-air Khao Lam producer, you will learn how this famous Thai sweet dish is made and satisfy your taste buds with some freshly made Khao Lam.

Continue to visit to the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market - this is the floating market you see in most Bangkok postcards and we visit parts where there is still an authentic charm. The colourfully clad merchants at these lively markets paddle along congested canals in sturdy canoes laden with fresh fruit and vegetables to sell to shoppers on the banks. There is lots of chatter and activity - bargaining is common - that's all part of the fun -- but don't expect to get the price down more than a few baht.

Then Board the non-air-conditioned 3rd class carriage to Mae Klong Railway Market - a market where the stalls are laid out on both sides of the railway tracks. When the train comes through, the tents and goods are moved from the rails in lightning speed. After the train has sped by, everything is moved back within a few seconds so that no one would suspect a conduit for a train.

Continue on road to the Klong Khone Conservation Center where you will learn about the biodiversity and the importance of mangroves. We will have lunch in a local restaurant take a long-tailed boat to explore its abundance of naturally beautiful sceneries and nowadays hard to find mangrove forest. One of highlights is to see the sea monkeys who live along the coastline. Once the monkeys spot you, they will race to greet you in the hope for some fruit that boat driver will provide.

We finish the trip here and return to your hotel in Bangkok after all
