To begin your tour, you’ll be collected from your hotel and transferred approximately 10km out of town. From here, your rural cycling adventure begins! From the drop-off point, you’ll begin cycling through the countryside before stopping at a local village. It is here that you’ll get the chance to see locals using traditional rice mills and making rice wine. As is the case in many traditional villages, people are primarily subsistence farmers and grow rice for their own needs and survival. Often you’ll find a shed adjacent to their dwelling with a small rice mill inside. Next you’ll enjoy one of the tour highlights – a visit to a local school where children have the opportunity to learn English. You can even help them practice! You’ll then transfer back to your hotel before lunchtime.

The wet season is not the ideal time for biking. The best season is from November through to April, roughly corresponding to the dry season and the tourist high season. May, June and July need not be a bad time either, as it is hard to predict when the rains will come. We would not recommend a biking trip during August and September.
