After your short visit to the village, cruise along the mangrove swamp. Well-informed guides will focus on the region’s complex ecosystem, highlighting webs of animal and plant interaction and pointing out a variety of endemic species along the way. Visitors will learn how the various animals and these uniquely adapted trees colonize the shoreline. This is one of few places where the rare Irrawaddy, or snub fin dolphins, are often seen.
