Siem Reap abounds with historic landmarks and temple ruins that offer a look into its ancient past. We’ll visit Wat Inkosei, built on the site of an ancient Hindu temple, with two ruins still in good condition. We’ll then visit a workshop where traditional shadow puppets, one of the oldest forms of Cambodian entertainment, are made. Next, we’ll head to Wat Bo pagoda, one of the oldest in Siem Reap, where you’ll see its finely painted murals and watch monks as they make the various moldings which adorn the pagodas. From Siem Reap, we’ll head to the district of Puok to the Silk Farm. Here, you’ll learn the different stages of this process of making handmade silk, including the growing of the mulberry trees, silk worm breeding, and training in the ancient craft of silk dyeing and weaving.
