    tour description

    06:45 hours
Early pick up from your hotel and transfer to Mahachai seafood market - one of Thailand's largest traditional fresh seafood markets. A weird and wonderful variety of local products are sold here. After exploring the market, walk a few minutes to the pier close to the market and take a ferry across the Tha Chin river to Tha Chalom, where is a large industrial centre for marine products.

At Tha Chalom, your guide will arrange a cycle rickshaw (samlor) for everyone and start cycling through the fishing village and see the locals. You will also visit a few Chinese God Shrines and Thai temple. After exploring, the rickshaw will drop you at Ban Laem Railway Station to catch the local train, non-air-conditioned 3rd class carriage. You can lean back and enjoy scenic journey, see the rice paddies during the train arrive to the famous, and unique market, called Mae Klong Railway Market where the stalls spill out on both sides of the railway tracks. When the train comes through, the tents and goods are moved from the rails at lightning speed. After the train has passed by, everything is moved back so quickly no one would suspect this was a passage for a train. Next we then visit Wat Bang Kapom, this ancient temple was built in the late Ayutthaya period. The old chapel is very interesting. On the upper part of the walls, there are unusual mural paintings in the form of stucco reliefs depicting the Lord Buddha's history. And in the middle of the chapel, there is a large replica of the Lord Buddha's footprint. We will then continue by a local boat along the Mae Klong river to visit Baan Bang Noi, where you can roll up your sleeves and help to prepare and cook different Thai dishes. Converse in the relaxing surroundings as you take a rest and enjoy the meal you have prepared. After satisfying your hunger, you will explore the surrounding orchards by foot, reached via a short bicycle ride. After learning about Khao Lam (sticky rice cooked in a bamboo tube) then return to Bangkok in the middle of the afternoon.
