Cambodia’s vibrant and charming capital is a must-see for any visitor to the country. We’ll first visit the city’s namesake, Wat Phnom, built to house Buddhist relics washed ashore by the river. We’ll then head to the Royal Palace where you’ll see the different structures of this pagoda-style compound and take a stroll through its beautiful garden. Next we’ll visit the Silver Pagoda and the 5,000 silver tiles of its floor. You’ll also see a gold Buddha, encrusted with 9,584 diamonds and a small emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha. We’ll continue to the nearby National museum, an exceptional example of traditional architecture. It is devoted to preserving and displaying khmer art and sculptures and is home to hundreds of some of the most spectacular pre- and post-Angkorian pieces.
