Situated in Kuantan, the capital of Pahang State, the Panching Cave is a truly unique & impressive rock formation. Upon arrival at the caves, you’ll visit the fascinating Thai-Buddhist Cave Temple. Located in the Bukit Charah limestone outcrop in northwest Kuantan, the temple sits high above palm oil and rubber plantations. After a short climb up a narrow walkway, you’ll arrive at the entrance to the main ‘cathedral cave’ where the 9 metre-long Reclining Buddha lies. During the day, when the sunlight penetrates a natural opening in the roof, the Buddha figure is illuminated. Nearby the Panching Cave is a pristine nature reserve, home to an arboretum specialising in rattan and a beautiful cascading waterfall. You’ll also have the chance to take a refreshing dip in the pristine natural pool.
