During this tour, explore the colonial heritage buildings of Yangon, bringing to life the Rangoon of the 1920s, revealing the rich history and well known sites plus some hidden gems that George Orwell would have visited on his excursion in his book, Burmese Days.

Pick up from your hotel and drive to the starting point at Sule Shangri-La Hotel, meet with the lecture and explore Yangon as in "The Burmese Days" written by a British writer, George Orwell. Walk along the busy Yangon streets to see the colonial heritage buildings of Yangon, bringing to life the Rangoon of the 1920s. You will also enter the world of Burmese writer Shwe U Daung who (in the 1920s and 30s) adapted the Sherlock Holmes stories for a Burmese audience while searching for his mysterious address in Burmese Baker Street. Stop at a tea shop frequented by contemporary Burmese writers. The walk will be conducted by a great local Burmese guide San Lin Tun. He is a well-known local writer and poet who has lived in Yangon all his life and speaks very good English. He has published a number of books in English including his popular "Reading A George Orwell Novel in A Myanmar Teashop & Other Essays". Transfer back to your hotel.
