Wat Suan Dok is one of the many temples in Chiang Mai often admired by locals & visitors alike. Built in the 14th century, the monastery has a rich history & interesting architecture but now you can do more than learn about the long history & observe the architecture of Wat Suan Dok. The “Monk Chat” programme gives you the opportunity to join an informal question & answer session with monks & learn more about Buddhism, meditation & the monks’ lives. The programme is held on Monday, Wednesday & Friday evenings. You’ll be offered a unique opportunity to exchange ideas about cultural & Buddhist related aspects of life with the monks. Prior to participating in the Monk Chat programme, you’ll be introduced to two seldom visited temples in the town – spectacular Wat Duang Di & Wat Bupparam.

Wat Suan Dok is just one of the many temples in Chiang Mai frequently visited by tourists. Built in the 14th century, the monastery has a rich history and interesting architecture. Nowadays visitors to Wat Suan Dok can do more than just learn about its long history and admire the temple's architecture: Called the "Monk chat" program, interested visitors can join an informal question-and-answer session with monks and learn more about Buddhism, meditation and the monks' lives. The program is held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 17:00 to 19:00 hrs In English and offers both monks and tourists an opportunity to exchange ideas about cultural and Buddhism related aspects. Prior to participating in the Monk Chat program, we will introduce you to two seldom visited temples in town - Wat Duang Di and Wat Bupparam.
