Take a 1.5-hour drive to Ben Tre province in Mekong Delta for a day cruise aboard Mango Cruise. Your Mekong discovery tour commences with a ride by Xe Loi (tri-motor cycle) from Huu Dinh hamlet along the narrow village roads with lush green view of rice paddies and fruit orchards. Arrive at the waterfront, you will embark on the charming Mango Cruise for a glimpse at the Delta scenery. Make the first stop at a small brick workshop where the locals still use centuries-old traditional methods to make bricks by hand. Then your boat will cross the An Hoa River to Phong Nam where you will start a bicycle trip (around 4 km) with a visit to a coconut processing household. Continue the bike ride through gardens to the next stop at a rice noodles factory to see how “hu tieu”, one of the most popular ingredients for breakfast dishes in the region is made. You will then visit a local family, who live on fishing, shrimp and farming. Enjoy the tropical fruits and honey tea in her garden before taking a trip by rowing sampan paddled by a personalized rower to discover the maze of small canals.
Back on-board, you will head to Mango home restaurant for lunch and freshening up before switching to a bicycle ride (about 500 m or 4 minutes) on village roads to visit a former Vietcong soldier who survived two years fighting the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Have a chat with the hosts and enjoy the crispy rice paper made by his wife, and see how it is made. Afterwards, get back on-board for a ride to Ben Tre City for road transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.
