Built in 1296 Chiang Mai was the capital city of the Lanna Kingdom (the kingdom of a million rice fields). To this day the connection to this ancient Kingdom is visible throughout the region.

On this excursion, you will receive an insight into ancient Lanna traditions and learn how the Lanna people live their lives today.
Depart from your hotel for the one jour journey to the home of a Lanna family, who have lived on this land for over 150 years. Several generations of the same family lead a traditional life in typical Lanna houses made of teak wood and maintain the natural surroundings in a way now rarely seen in Chiang Mai.
You will be given a tour of the gardens which provide the family with bananas, mangoes, coconuts and every type of herb and spice needed for typical northern food. Then help the family prepare lunch, amidst the wonderful natural setting. A delicious and authentic Lanna lunch will then be enjoyed together in these unique surroundings.
Return to Chiang Mai arriving in the early afternoon.
