Then, visit the spice bazaar to learn about various spices and their uses along with other different ingredients used in cooking curries and local Malaysian cuisine. Leave the market for a refreshing glass of “Teh Tarik” (pulled tea) and “Roti Canai” (an Indian pancake eaten with curry sauce). Proceed on foot to the town’s oldest part, dating back to pre World War 2, with brief stops at the Padang Merdeka and Atkinson Clock Tower. Finish with a stroll down Gaya Street, the oldest street in Kota Kinabalu which in olden days was the heart of the town.

Meet your guide at the lobby and proceed on foot to the Handicraft Market, which have hundreds of stalls selling handicraft from around the region. Look out for baskets, place mats, woven tribal fabrics, shell craft, batik fabrics, fresh water and salt water pearls, capiz shell lamp shades, embroidered blouses & tablecloths, wood carvings and many more.
Visit the spice bazaar and learn about various spices and their uses. Learn about the different ingredients used in cooking curries and local Malaysian cuisine. Leave the market for a refreshing glass of pulled tea "Teh Tarik" and "Roti Canai" an Indian pancake eaten with curry sauce.
