A pleasant full day walk through the hills to Myinmahti village, mostly inhabited by the ethnic Danu minority as well as Pa-O, Palaung and Taung Yo ethnic groups. The path takes you first through the pine forest which opens out to potato farms, mountain rice paddies and vegetable plantations. In this traditional rural environment, farmers still work with oxen and buffalo rather than machines. Enjoy the natural beauty of the area on the way.

Drive to Hnee Payar (Bamboo Pagoda) and start trekking to Ywa Thit and Tar Yaw, which are Palaung villages and approximately three hours walking up and down through forests passing small streams, rice fields and tea plantations. A one-hour ascent to a view point brings you to a well-deserved Nepalese restaurant for a lunch stop of fresh chapati and vegetable curry. If the weather is fine, you can see Mount Popa from the view point. After lunch, walk back to Kalaw passing a reservoir and through dense forest for about three hours. The car will be waiting at same place in Hnee Payar to bring you back to your hotel.
