You will walk to the Elephant camp on a down hill path for about 2 hours. The Elephant camp looks after retired elephants who have spent their life in the forest. Take part in the care of their daily life – feeding, washing and caring. You will see the beauty of Myanmars nature with exotic landscape.

Meet the hiking team at starting point near Wet Pyu Ye Junction (Trek starts not later than 09:00 hours). Start walking down to the narrow valley where you are in the nature with adventure (the strenuous part of the trek) (about 2 hours). Walk to the elephant camp where a number of elephants are enjoying a wonderful retirement life. The elephants in this camp all worked hard in the timber industry, but now they are retired and the camp family is looking well after them. Clients may feed and bath the elephants with their Mahouts (care takers of our elephants)
Then walk up to elephant village where you can see the life of elephant care takers and their families.
Lunch will be taken in the camp before heading back to Kalaw.

Important:
  • Clients are recommended to wear long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, and good walking shoes, and/or supportive sandals which can be worn in the river.
  • Sunscreen and a hat are also recommended
  • Day visitors can help prevent any insect bites by using insect repellent and wearing long-sleeved shirts and long trousers. Clients who stay overnight are advised to use anti-malaria medication. .
  • The camp manager and his team of mahouts take all safety precautions with the elephants, and clients must follow their instructions at all times when interacting with the elephants.
