tour description

This morning transfer from your hotel by vehicle to Wat Klong Toey Nok where you will start a unique cycling tour that discovers the heart of Bangkok.
We start by cycling to the city's biggest daily fresh market "Talad Klong Toey". Here we park up the bikes and have stroll through the huge market, where there are all sorts of local produce on sale from seafood, farm produce, clothing, kitchenware and many other items at amazingly low prices. This fascinating market is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and is a rarely visited market by tourists. Back on the bikes we safely cross the road to a large area and pass Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and reach Benjakitti Park. The park opened in 2004 and is a cycling haven with a large lake surrounded by flowers, providing an interesting contrast to the skyscrapers of the Sukhumvit area behind. Also in this area are the warehouses of the Tobacco Monopoly where cigarettes are still produced and we cycle in between the warehouses.

Next we continue onto a cycling and walking overpass (no cars allowed) that crosses the city from east to west. Here we are cycling above mosques, temples, churches and local shacks, before reaching Lumpini Park, Bangkok's very own Central Park. This is Bangkok's largest park and is a wonderfully shady place to cycle through. You may see locals practicing the likes of Tai Chi, Yoga and even ballroom dancing. The park is also famous for its prehistoric looking residents, Monitor Lizard's. These scary looking, yet harmless reptiles can actually climb trees so look up and you may see one...!

After exploring the park, we safely cross the main road and continue through the back streets of Sathorn to the end point back at Wat Klong Toey Nok. For some of the journey we will cycle along a disused railway track which at certain times of the year can be very colourful as it is overgrown with wild flowers and vegetation. After returning the bikes you will be transferred back to the hotel by vehicle.
