tour description
Visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, tucked away in the mountains at an elevation of 3,280 feet (1,056 meters). To reach the temple itself requires a climb up a Naga staircase of 290 steps. The monastery was built by King Gue-Na in 1383. In its centre stands a huge Chedi (spired pagoda), which contains partial relics of Lord Buddha.
If visiting in the afternoon, it is recommended to time your visit to listen to the Monks chanting around 1800 hours.
