Stroll around the village and observe local way of farming life, visit to the beautiful old wooden monastery. Morning, drive to Lawkananda jetty and take a short boat ride across the Ayeyarwaddy River to the villagers of East Kyun Thiri Island. Although it's only a 5 minutes boat ride from Bagan itself, few tourists ever visit. Arrive to the riverbank of the island, take the fun bullock cart ride to East Kyun Thiri Village. Wandering around the farming village where you will see tomato garden, chilli, mustard, cauliflower and seasonal vegetables. The village has regular flooding during the rainy season and thus everything is built on stilts, including the local monastery. Visit to the beautiful old wooden monastery, take a chance to chat with the head monk who is the third head monk in 120 years since the monastery was built. After spending time learning about the daily lives of this unique island village, enjoy picnic home cooked lunch at the village house. afterwards heading back across the river to Bagan.
