Glimpse of Satang Turtle Island

Transfer to Santubong on air-conditioned vehicle. Embark on an interesting day excursion to Satang Turtle Island and the Kuching Wetlands National Park. We will first look for Irrawaddy dolphins, which are often sighted around the Santubong and Buntal coastal areas during fine sea condition. Following this, we will proceed to Satang Turtle Island, which is one of three islands set under protection by the government for turtle conservation. At night, turtles will come to the white sandy beach, which stretches across the entire southern side of this island to lay eggs. Although it is highly unlikely to see turtles during bright daylight, the soft corals surrounding the island give good opportunities for snorkelling (snorkelling gear provided). In the afternoon, we cruise along the mangrove swamp of Kuching Wetlands National Park.
