Scenic Kanchanaburi province is the setting for a memorable tour of the sites made famous by the film ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’ about the building of the ‘Death Railway’ by allied POWs and forced labour during World War II. The Thailand-Burma Railway Museum is an interactive museum which presents the history of the Thailand-Burma Railway. You’ll find visiting it an educational and moving experience. We’ll also call in at the War Cemetery, the final resting place for over 6,000 allied POWs that died working on the railway, before we take an exciting long-tailed boat trip amid beautiful scenery along the Maeklong River to the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. We’ll have lunch, then board a train for a thrilling ride across wooden viaducts, with fantastic views along the Kwai River.
