tour description

Grade: Easy to moderate - great for families and casual cyclists Cycling distance: Total cycling time: 3 - 4 hours. Depart by van for a 1.5-hour transfer south of Hua Hin to the Burmese border, where you find an outdoor market selling everything from small handicrafts to large, heavy pieces of tree-carved furniture. This point is the narrowest point of Thailand and the distance from the border to the beach (Gulf of Thailand) is only 12 km wide. Start cycling primarily downhill to the beach and visit a small aquarium before cycling up the coast and onto a Thai Air Force Base. The next three segments of the trip lead through a series of spectacular coastal landscapes and seascapes comprised of jagged limestone mountains and islands jutting from the sea all along the coast. Enjoy a nice lunch on the beach at Lime Bay (Ao Manao) before cycling a bit further along scenic beachfront roads to the bottom of a mountain where you can feed gentle Dusky Langur Monkeys. If you are very fit, you may take a trekking path up the mountain for amazing views of the beaches and bays. After that continue along Prachuap Bay (Ao Prachuap) along a beachfront road to Little Bay (Ao Noi) where a stop is made to visit a beautiful teak wood temple with carvings and paintings of Buddhist stories and other Thai style artwork. At the temple your guide will demonstrate for those that want to try, how Buddhists pay respect to Lord Buddha.

Meals included: Lunch, drinking water, fruit during cycling stops

    notes

This cycling trip is excellent for families and casual cyclists. The majority of the cycling is on flat tarmac ‘traffic free’ roads. There are no hill climbs plus there are many breaks in the ride to take in the scenery. During the whole trip you are tracked by our support vehicle with fresh fruit, water, electrolytes, tool kit, and first aid support. The vehicle is never more than 3-4 minutes away. Although the tour starts early in the morning, it can get very hot, and we suggest you wear sun lotion and bring extra with you. Don’t forget to bring a camera or video camera!
