tour description
Meet at the Grasshopper Adventures Shop at 17:30 hours for a quick bike fitting and briefing. At 18:00 hours sharp (ensure you are there in plenty of time) it's time to head out, staying off the main roads as we pedal through small laneways, past ancient temples to see the heart and soul of Bangkok.
After passing through Thammasat University we cross the Chao Phraya River by ferry and cycle quiet back roads to Wat Arun, the Temple of the Dawn. At night it's spectacularly illuminated and there are few tourists. The next unforgettable stop is the world-famous Bangkok flower market, the largest wholesale flower market in Thailand. We visit at its busiest time when the market is a riot of colour and activity. On the walk through you'll be treated to some of Thailand's iconic street food. Next is Wat Pho and whilst the reclining Buddha is closed to visitors at night, the temple grounds are magical, with beautifully illuminated spires covered in mosaics. Explore the peaceful temple grounds in the cooler evening air, it is almost like having a privileged private tour. We pass the Grand Palace to Sanam Luang and cyle again through back streets of Bangkok's historic old city before we finish at the cycle shop.
Riding after dark in Bangkok is an adventure with much of it down narrow laneways and quiet backstreets. There is the odd main road to cross, but this is done together in an organised manner.

13km distance bike tour on flat terrain and narrow lanes
