This tour takes you through adventure, culture, historical and pristine sites which are bound to leave you in awe of this amazing island.

You will be picked up from the airport by our representative and then proceed to Negombo.

Dubbed Sri Lanka’s ‘Little Rome’, this beach town located just a few kilometres away from the Bandaranaike International Airport is full of surprises for wanderlusts.

After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel take Negombo City tour.

It is a historically interesting location owing to the strains of Dutch-influenced architecture that remain intact in the town’s landscape, not to mention the ancient Dutch Fort as well as several churches constructed during the Dutch Colonial era that are thronged by pilgrims daily.

Then proceed to the historical city of Anuradhapura.

This city is renowned for the multiplicity of religious and archaeological sites that offers a plethora of sightseeing opportunities ranging from the striking ancient stupas (mound-like structure containing Buddhist relics) of small sun-dried bricks to ruins of ancient temples, sculptures, the sacred Bo tree (Peepal tree) site as well as the several ancient man-made tanks that deck the city’s landscape.

Take a tour around this ancient city, Anuradhapura (from the 4th century) to visit the Isurumuniya, Sri Mahabodhiya and Ruwanwelisaya, which are the highlights of this city.

In the evening visit the Mihintale rock, which is an important religious site of Buddhists as it is considered as the place where Buddhism was introduced to Sri Lanka. The great stairway leading up to the rock is absolutely picturesque, shaded by queues of frangipani trees and their blossoms adorning the path.

Return to Anuradhapura for overnight stay at a hotel.
After a delicious breakfast set off to Sigiriya with en route stops in Aukana and at Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

Visit the Aukana Buddha statue (from 5th century B.C) which is carved out of a granite rock and its height is about 40 feet (12m). This is a well preserved and a magnificent ancient effigy in Sri Lanka.
In the afternoon climb the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

This ancient rock fortress from the 5th century gives an amazing view of the Cultural Triangle. The marvellous rock fortress of Sigiriya is a rare jewel among the many treasures in Sri Lanka. The site was the domain of King Kashyapa whose aim was to build an impregnable fortress and within it, a heavenly abode.

Breakfast at the hotel and head to Dambulla.

Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. It lies atop a massive hill on the edge of the town is one of the eight UNESCO world heritage sites in the country and is renowned for its unique mural paintings and sculptures.

Lunch at a restaurant in Sigiriya or Habarana (Payable directly).
In the evening leave for a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park.

The park, nourished by an ancient man-made tank provides shelter for troupes of toque monkeys, sambar deer as well as leopards, elephants and bird-flocks including little cormorants and painted storks to name a few.
Return to Sigiriya hotel for another overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Knuckles Range.

Named after its shape of a clenched fist, the Knuckles Mountain range is a perfect hoard of the rich history, culture and ecology hidden within this island nation. The misty mountain tops complete with crystal clear waterways and exotic fauna and flora is a haven for both nature and history enthusiasts.

The history/culture enthusiasts also have the wonderful opportunity to visit the isolated villages of an indigenous community in the mountains and obtain insights into their simple lifestyles that have remained well-preserved over the years.

In the evening leave to Kandy to witness a cultural show which will highlight different forms of Kandy dancing and drumming.

Return to Knuckles Range for overnight stay.

Travel from Kobonilla – Loolwatta - Corbet’s gap- Hettiya Wanguwa (13km) by motor vehicle. Then trek from Hettiyawanguwa to Kumbukgolla (4km) Na-ela (3km) ,Nitre cave (1km steep climb)

It will be an adventurous mountain trek with panoramic views of rocky hills, traditional villages, dense semi evergreen forest, rock formations, wild flowers, bird life and butterflies.

The Nitre is a 10m high and 15m wide cave where potassium nitrate was mined to be used as gunpowder during the colonial times.

Return to your hotel in the evening.
Breakfast at hotel and proceed to Nuwara Eliya with a stop in Kandy for sightseeing.

Arrive in the Hill country capital Kandy, which is the last stronghold of Sinhala Kings and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Pay a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.

Wander around the lake and the streets of Kandy exploring this wonderful city and its markets.

If you are interested in great architecture, we recommend you visit the Trinity College Chapel; a Kandyan pavilion that is open on three sides featuring murals painted by renowned Ceylon artist David Paynter. It is the only church (built circa 1800) with no walls.

Arrive in Nuwara Eliya for an overnight stay at hotel.
After a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel explore the city of Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya is a land of tea-laden hillsides, gurgling waterfalls, stirring mountains and clear hill-country air. Here, the temperature is similar to a beautiful English summer’s day.

In the evening go for boat ride at Gregory’s lake. This lake was named after its builder Governor Sir William Gregory. The breath-taking view of the Piduruthalagala Mountain (tallest mountain in Sri Lanka) can be seen from the lake.

Other activities that can be done around the lake are jet skiing, cycling and horse riding (payable directly).

Take a drive to Yala passing the misty mountain peaks and cascading waterfalls.
After the long journey, we suggest that you spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Early morning set out for a safari at Yala National Park.
Morning safaris are the best for bird watching. Around 215 bird species inhabit in Yala National park ranging from endemic birds to migrant birds. Some of the birds you will witness are Sri Lankan jungle fowl, Grey hornbill, black capped babbler and many more. If you miss the opportunity of seeing a leopards or a bear this will give you another opportunity to get a glimpse for a one.
Return to hotel for breakfast.
The day is at leisure.

In the evening get ready to go on an evening safari at Yala National Park.

Its magnificent sights of majestic elephant herds, fine-feathered peacocks, great black bears and agile leopards that steal away into the shadows of the thick foliage are unparalleled to any of the national parks in the country.

Return to hotel for another overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Colombo via Galle.
Located in the Southern province, the city of Galle is a living time capsule. Home to the largest occupied Fort in Asia, its quaint beauty extends beyond its golden beaches and cerulean waters.

The main attraction of Galle no doubt is its ancient Fort, which instantaneously takes the visitors back to the Dutch Colonial era. One can bask in the picturesque views and the rich history while walking through the narrow, cobbled streets, relish a meal from one of the interesting restaurants within the Fort or enjoy the cool sea-breeze beneath the landmark lighthouse.

Arrive in Colombo and check-in at hotel for an overnight stay.
