tour description

Meet your guide at your hotel at 16:00 hrs and transfer to the river to discover Chinatown's most characterful alleys in the Talad Noi area. Talad Noi means 'Little Market' and this area is full of authentic charm and is very much the 'Real Bangkok'. The area is home to some interesting street art and is not so touristy as other parts of Chinatown. You will walk past centuries-old shop houses and some more handsome buildings including Sol Heng Tai Mansion, an impressive Chinese mansion over 200 years old. Unlike nearby Yaowarat or Charoen Krung Roads, Talad Noi's narrow streets aren't clogged up with traffic, meaning it's a perfect place for a walking tour. Sneak a peek inside locals' homes and see the unique sight of recycled engine parts piled up on the side of the road, ready to be converted into longtail boat engines for the nearby Chao Phraya River. The walking tour finishes with guests being able to enjoy the magnificent views of the river from a hidden away local rooftop bar. Enjoy a drink whilst watching boats pass by on the river as the sun sets over Bangkok. Then head down to street level and jump aboard a tuk tuk to head deep into Chinatown to Yaowarat Road, with it's neon lights and bustling atmosphere. You'll be able to sample different dishes such as dim sum & your knowledgeable guide will explain the background to all the different food and the history of the local area. At around 21:00hrs. the tour finishes with a drink in a lovely open air bar from where you can sit in comfort and watch the hustle and bustle of China Town before transferring by private vehicle back to your hotel.
