Visit the largest social enterprise of the region and discover the skills of the artisans there. Take part in a 2-hour workshop, washing and crocheting plastic bags to help address the plastic issue in the environment. Participate in a 1 hour tasting of locally produced liqueurs and jams.
Start by visiting “Les Artisans d’Angkor – Chantiers Ecoles”.
The centre works with young artisans. The team create, produce and market a unique collection of ornamental sculpture, lacquerware, silk weaving and silk painting. The company promotes fair, sustainable development to provide benefits to rural communities.
Then, meet the women at Rehash Trash and take part in a 2-hour workshop to learn how to work with the plastic bags and then make your creation. Crochet away!
Rehash Trash is a Green Gecko social enterprise created to empower women living in precarious conditions by helping to clean up the environment, collecting roadside rubbish and up-cycling it into useful and beautiful products.
After the workshop is complete, take a short drive to Sombai Liqueur. Discover the local taste of Siem Reap by trying 11 different flavours of liqueur (or as many as you can handle!). These liqueurs are all home-made products.
