Orcaella is one of Myanmar’s most luxury cruise liners. This 9-day journey brings you from Yangon up to Bagan. While in Prome, you will have the chance to visit the newly appointed UNESCO world heritage site of Sri Ksetra (Pyu). During your holiday in Myanmar, you will have a chance to explore Danuphyu, Pyay, Magwe, Salay and Bagan.

Board Belmond Orcaella at its morning in Yangon and enjoy a relaxing breakfast while starting your journey to Bagan. After lunch, enjoy an introductory lecture about the heritage buildings we are sailing past along the Ayeyarwady River. A welcome cocktail party and introduction to the ship's officers precedes dinner.

This morning visit Danuphyu, a historically important town during the Anglo-Burmese War. See General Maha Bandula memorial at Pali University, followed by a trip to a cheroot maker and local tea shops. Afternoon tea is accompanied by a lecture on poets and writers in Myanmar. Traditional Myanmar folk dancing is your after-dinner entertainment tonight.

Spend the day relaxing on board as the cruise makes its way towards the ancient Myanmar capital of Pyay. Take in the sights and sounds of the river, or make use of the luxurious ship facilities. On board entertainment today includes cookery, astrology and a 'longyi' (traditional dress) tying demonstration. Wear your longyi at this evening's pre-dinner cocktail party.

Arrive in Pyay in the morning and disembark for a visit to the impressive Shwesadaw Pagoda and ten storey Buddha in Sri Ksetra. Return to Belmond Orcaella and spend the rest of the afternoon sailing through the stunning scenery.

After a full morning sailing, enjoy an afternoon stop to explore the quaint Gwechaung village by ox-cart for first-hand experience of the rural lifestyle along the Ayarwaddy River. This evening dinner is served at Min Hla Fort, the site of a great battle during the third Anglo-Burmese War.

This morning, arrive at the trade port of Magwe. Enjoy a tuk tuk tour of the busy market and see the famous Myathlon pagoda. Afternoon tea is accompanied by a lecture. After dinner entertainment is a Myanmar puppet show.

This morning disembark to visit exquisite 19th century wooden monastery Yot-Sone-Kyaung. A bus excursion takes in the most important sights of Bagan. Lunch is at the Sunset Garden restaurant in Bagan. Overnight on board.
Join in the morning excursion of Bagan and visit the Shwezigon Pagoda, the bustling market and Min Nan Thu. This afternoon there is a choice of activities. Travel to the villages of Gu Byauk Gyi and Pwa Saw, or take a private horse and cart or bicycle tour within the city of Bagan. Enjoy the evening's farewell cocktail party and entertainment before your final dinner on board.

- The rivers of Myanmar vary from season to season, with as much as a 30 foot variance in water level. During the months of January through June, the water levels of the Ayeyarwady may drop for a period of a few weeks to a few months, creating a narrower channel for navigation. During the months of July through October, high water levels may affect the Chindwin River. To accommodate for changes in water levels, Belmond Orcaella may operate on an adjusted itinerary during these periods and our mooring locations may be amended.
