You travel from Saigon in the South to Hanoi in the North. Start with the sights of energetic and exuberant Saigon and visit incredible Cu Chi tunnels. In Central Vietnam, visit the former royal city of Hue and the charming historic city of Hoi An. Savor the breath-taking scenery of Halong Bay before ending your journey in Hanoi.

Meet on arrival at Ho Chi Minh City / Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day at leisure or join our interesting daily excursions in and around Ho Chi Minh City.

In the morning, visit Cu Chi Tunnels (70 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City), an amazing complex of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War. There are more than 200 km of tunnels, comprising a main axis system with many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters and other tunnels. You have the chance to crawl through this amazing system of tunnels.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Explore Saigon during the afternoon city tour which will take you to Thien Hau pagoda, the Reunification Palace, the War Remnants Museum and a lacquer ware workshop.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue, the former royal city of the 13 ruling Nguyen dynasties. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel.


Explore the Imperial City of Hue. The Hue Citadel is situated on the Northern bank of the Perfume River and built by Emperor Gia Long it was designed for the exclusive use of the Emperor and his household. The Citadel is a square 2 km wall encompassing 3 walled enclosures; the Citadel, Kinh Thanh Hue, the Yellow Imperial city, Hoang Thanh and in the centre the Forbidden Purple city Tu Cam Thanh where the Emperor lived. The Hue royal complex has been officially recognized by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Then, the cyclo will take you through the narrow lanes of old Hue, passing homes, shops, hidden caf'e9s, bonsai gardens and parks.

Hue's environment is dotted with tombs of past emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty. Construction of the tombs was meticulous carried out starting whilst the king was still alive in order to ensure his comfort in the next life. Most of the tombs have courtyards, a temple for worship, statues of elephants and figures and a pond, but the layout of each is different reflecting differing each king's personality and style. They have a lovely peaceful atmosphere. Visit Minh Mang, Khai Dinh and Tu Duc Royal Tombs, considered to be the three most beautiful mausoleums around Hue.

After lunch we start the spectacular drive over Hai Van Pass to Danang and continue to the charming historic city of Hoi An. Arrival and check-in.

Explore the Ancient Town of Hoi An and its surroundings. Known to early Western merchants, Hoi An was one of the major trading centres of Southeast Asia in the 16th century. Hoi An has a distinctive Vietnamese and Chinese atmosphere with low, tiled-roof houses and narrow streets; the original structure of some of these streets is still virtually intact. Many of the houses are constructed of rare timbers and decorated with lacquer panels engraved with Chinese characters and pillars carved with ornamental designs.

Take a short boat ride across the river to a boat builder's yard and woodcarvers. You will also visit a pottery and brick-making village. Return to the town for a discovery tour on foot through Hoi An Ancient Town which has been enlisted as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 1999. You will visit some of the historic merchant and community houses, places of worship and famous bridges.

In the afternoon, transfer to Danang Airport for your flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel.

Pick-up at your hotel and transfer to Halong City. Upon arrival, embark on a memorable cruise with an overnight in Halong Bay. Enjoy the breath-taking scenery of this UNESCO listed World Natural Heritage with wonderful caves, tiny islets and beaches as well as floating villages scattering around. You may opt for activities, like kayaking (at surcharge) and swimming (if the weather permits).

Note: Your private guide can accompany you on board at surcharge. Excursions in Halong Bay will be conducted by an on-board English-speaking resident guide.

Greet the day with a morning Tai Chi exercise (at request and not available on all boats). View the sunrise over the bay. Have breakfast while cruising through the bay. Upon disembarkation, transfer back to Hanoi.


Enjoy a two-hour cyclo tour through Hanoi's Old Quarter to experience the hustle and bustle, the real lifestyle of Hanoians and the busyness of this bizarre labyrinth of 36 streets.

Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Monday, Friday and during the entire months of September & October) and his former residence (closed on Monday and Friday), One-Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature, known as the first university of Vietnam and built more than 1,000 years ago. Afterwards, continue to Hoan Kiem Lake and visit the Ngoc Son Temple.

In the afternoon, transfer to Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport for your departure flight
