tour details

The east coast of Thailand affords the traveller some memorable experiences. We’ll be stopping at Petchburi to tour the lovely hilltop summer palace of King Mongkut, Phra Nakhon Khiri, equipped with the king’s own astronomical observatory. On our way to a seaside lunch, we’ll drive past the fishing village of Had Chao Samran where we might see people working in the salt fields. We’ll also visit Tham Phraya Nakhon cave, a roofless cave so large that it has a pavilion inside, built for a royal visit. After a night at the unspoilt fishing village of Bangsapan it’s time to hit the islands. You’ll be swimming or snorkelling from the white sandy beaches of Koh Thalu, relaxing on stunning dive island Koh Tao, and spending time at a beautiful resort on famous full moon party island, Koh Phangan.

Depart from Bangkok to Petchburi, which is dominated by a small hill known as Khao Wang (Palace Mountain), where King Mongkut had a summer palace built in 1860. Named Phra Nakhon Khiri, it is now a Historical Park consisting of palace buildings, temples, halls, even an observatory where the King used to view the stars. To reach the hilltop, you can either walk or take a cable car. Then visit Wat Yai Suwannaram: The main shrine hall contains 300-year-old mural paintings of mythical angels. The multi-purpose hall, once located in Ayutthaya's Grand Palace, is entirely built of teak wood and decorated with fine carving work especially at the door panels. Drive to the fishing village of Had Chao Samran. During the dry season, you can often observe people working on salt fields, a nice and welcome motive for photographers. After lunch at a seaside restaurant, continue to Hua Hin and check in at the IBIS HUA HIN. Overnight at hotel.
Visit Tham Phraya Nakhon, one of the largest caves in the park. It can be reached by boat or on foot during a one-hour climb from the village of Bang Pu. There are a couple of natural ventilation holes on the roof of the cave thus allowing sunlight to shine inside. The most popular attraction of the cave is a four-gabled pavilion constructed during the reign of King Rama V in the year 1890. With its beauty and distinctive identity the pavilion is now used as the symbol of Prachuap Khiri Khan. After lunch at a simple restaurant, continue along the coastline south to Bangsapan. Located 75 kilometers south of Prachuab Khirikan and 17 kilometers off the main road, the fishing village of Bangsapan is surrounded by coconut, oil palm and pineapple plantations. Overnight at BANGSAPHAN CORAL HOTEL.
Excursion to Koh Thalu, a picturesque island with white sandy beaches. You may relax on the beach or explore the colorful underwater world by snorkeling along the shore. Return to the mainland in the afternoon and then continue to Chumphorn. Overnight at A-TE HOTEL in CHUMPHORN.
Early morning transfer to the pier, where your local guide buds his farewell. Depart by high speed ferry to Koh Tao, famous among divers and backpackers alike. Joint transfer to PINNACLE KOH TAO DIVE RESORT (provided by hotel). The afternoon is at leisure.
Day at leisure. Enjoy a full day of relaxation.
Joint transfer to the pier by the resort's vehicle. Board the ferry to Koh Phangan, a large island covering an area of 191 square kilometers, famous among backpackers for its full-moon parties. This island counts over ten thousand inhabitants, is mountainous, largely covered in dense forests, and is surrounded by abundant unspoiled beaches. Transfer to PANVIMAN RESORT & SPA (join transfer by resort's van). Enjoy the resort of the afternoon lazing on the beach or at the resort's swimming pool.
