Mergui Archipelago Island Trip with a visit to Cooks Combs, a heart-shaped lagoon, also known as Emerald Heart Island. The next stop is Dunkin Island, with amazingly fine white sand before continuing toward St. Matthews Island for another snorkelling excursion and the chance to spot turtles, clown fish, sea anemones, giant clams and rock lobsters, also known as crayfish. It is possible to cross the border into Thailand.

Arrive by airplane in the morning from Yangon. After check in we will explore Myeik, which is one of the biggest fishing towns in Myanmar. We will talk about its incredibly interesting history. Already in the early 17th century the East Indian Trading Company were unloading their ships at the ports of Myeik.
Most of the goods would go inland and from there up to Tanintharyi and further on to the old capital of Siam Ayutthaya. "Beik" as the locals call there hometown produces everything for the fishing industry what is needed. Have you ask yourself where all the seafood comes from? We visit a softshell crab and a lobster farm to show a little bit of the fishing industry.
We will visit a wooden boat wharf where they still build the boats like in the old days. Climb up and look workers over their shoulder or just observe the incredible skilled work.
After a stroll through the old colonial quarter visit the Royal Pearl trading shop which has been owned by the same family for over 150 years. We will have a chance to learn about the pearl industry and how difficult it is to cultivate them.
In the later afternoon we leave from Seik Nge jetty with a traditional wooden boat to Pahtaw Island (10mins) to visit the reclining Buddha. After a short walk we can enjoy the panoramic sunset views from the top of the hill.

Morning flight to Kawthaung. It is very little known about the city's history formerly known as Victoria Point. Before Kawthaung established itself, Maliwan was the main port in the most southern part of Myanmar, but the shores were too shallow for the big ships. So Kawthaung was founded in the late 19th century about 25 Miles to the south.
After check in we take you to the main market. The market is called tax free market as Thai People came to cross border shopping. Afterwards our group visit to the famous King Bayinnaung statue, which is greeting visitors from the cape. It is said he was very much accepted in Thailand for his policy to leave the country ruling be his own King. Bayinnaung only demanded loyalty. Nearby Victoria Point is the most Southern Part of Myanmar and a great photo opportunity. Our next stop is Mali Wan Waterfall. The all year waterfall and its park is a great place to have our have traditional lunch.
Our last stop of the day is 5-5-5 Mountain as the locals call it. The hill offers a spectacular sunset view over the whole town and nearby islands of the Mergui Archipelago.

Cocks Comb Island is part of the Mergui Archipelago in the Andaman Sea. It is situated just off the coast of Kawthaung (Kawthoung), the most Southern city of Myanmar (Burma). The island is a limestone atoll without a beach, but with a stunning lagoon, shape like a heart. The inlet changes the color of the ocean and that's why it is also called Emerald Heart Island. In the morning we leave from Kawthaung. Enjoy the fresh breeze on the ocean while cruising along scenic islands. We reach Cocks Comb Island and enter the Emeralds Heart by swimming through a natural tunnel (guided). The sea inside the inlet is calm and perfect for snorkelling.

Feel free to take a stroll along the beach and listen to the sound of the ocean and jungle. We continue towards St. Matthews Island better known under its Burmese name Zar Det Gyi Kyun.
