After passing immigration at Trapeang Kreal, your tour will begin! You’ll start with a visit to Stung Treng on the San River, before making your way to ‘Prasat Preah Ko’, a small Pre-Angkorian temple on the Mekong River. You’ll continue to the small colonial town of Kratie, visit the Buddhist monasteries at Wat Phom Sambok & enjoy the magnificent aerial views. Watch the frolicking Irrawaddy dolphins until sunset! Highlights over the following days include a ferry to Koh Trong Island, a relaxing stay at the Rajabori Villas, a visit to a pepper & rubber plantation and a visit to a silk-weaving village. Your final days include visits to the pagodas of Wat Kohear Nokor & Phum Prasat, exploration of pre-Angkorian temples, a visit to the Santuk Silk Farm and a visit to a stone-carving village.

Proceed through customs and immigration at Trapeang Kreal immigration check-point (Laos-Cambodia border).
Welcome by your guide on the Cambodian side and departure to Stung Treng (50 km, 1 hour drive).
Arrive in Stung Treng, lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon, visit Stung Treng, located just 50 km south of Laos, on the banks of the San River, just off the Mekong. It is a very quiet provincial city, showing us the authentic and remote "face" of Cambodia. Visit the small village of Thala Barivat and 'Prasat Preah Ko', a small brick Pre-Angkorian temple on the other Mekong River side, crossing the river by ferry.
Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at Gold River Hotel (2-star, best available).
Breakfast at the hotel.
Early morning, departure by overland to Kratie. Arrive in Kratie, a small colonial-style town and transfer to the hotel.
Explore this charming provincial town with its rich legacy of French-era architecture and visit the local market.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon, visit Wat Phom Sambok to see the Buddhist monasteries and enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside from the hilltop. Continue to reach the site of the river dolphins and observe the rare freshwater Irrawaddy dolphins until sunset.
Drive back to Kratie and take a small ferry boat to the island of Koh Trong situated in the middle of the Mekong River opposite Kratie town.
Dinner at hotel.
Accommodation at Rajabori Villas on Koh Trong Island.
Breakfast at hotel.
Take a ferry ride back to Kratie and depart by overland to Kompong Cham. On the way to Kompong Cham, visit a pepper plantation and Chhup, a rubber plantation first established in the region by the French tire maker Michelin.
Lunch at local restaurant in Kompong Cham.
Afternoon, visit the silk-weaving village of Prek Chang Krane by boat (if the water level permits, otherwise by bus). Afterwards make a tour of Kompong Cham to view examples of colonial architecture.
Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at Mekong Hotel (2-star, best available).

Depart by car to Kompong Thom, En-route, visit Wat Nokhor with its ancient temple and modern style pagoda (12th century), visit Wat Kohear Nokor (11th century). You will also visit the nearby village and its pagoda where you can observe the daily life of the monks. Continue to Phum Prasat with its single ancient temple and the nearby modern pagoda.
Arrive in Kompong Thom and lunch at local restaurant.
Depart Kompong Thom for Sambor Prei Kuk. Enjoy traditional daily life scenes of rural Cambodia. Visit the ancient capital of Chenla with its 100 temples dating from the Pre-Angkorian period. Return to Kompong Thom.
Dinner and accommodation at Sambor Village Hotel (best available, 19 rooms only).
Breakfast at hotel.
Then, departure by road to Phnom Penh. The Santuk Silk Farm makes a perfect stop on the way to Phnom Penh, here you can learn about the process of silk weaving from worm to weaving and contribute to the sustainable development of the community. Visit a stone carving village nearby.
Make a stop in Skuon to taste Cambodia's more exotic culinary delights, the deep-fried spider.
Arrive in Phnom Penh and transfer to your hotel (accommodation in Phnom Penh not included in tour price).
