Explore the natural beauty of Mt. Kinabalu. Start by visiting the Mountain Garden, with its collection of orchids and plants that are unique to Kinabalu. In the afternoon, after a slide show, explore more of the forest in the park.
After breakfast, meet your mountain guide at he Park HQ and proceed to the summit trail, which leads you through tropical oak and chestnut forest, mossy forest and up to the sub-alpine forest.
Along the way, look out for rhododendrons, pitcher plants, orchids and other flora native to this area. Spend the night in a rest house (non heated) at the elevation of approximately 3,200m above sea level. Depart at 3:00 a. m.and proceed to the summit for the sunrise.
Return to Laban Rata Restaurant for breakfast before descending to Park Headquarters for lunch.

    • Accommodations at the mountain are non-heated and managed by Sabah Parks.
    • Accommodation at the mountain huts are with shared toilet facilities.
    • Do take note that your passport will be required for verification during registration at the Kinabalu Park office. Please bring it along with you.
    • We do not recommend you to catch your flight on the same day that you descend the mountain due to possible delay from injuries, tiredness and/or bad weather and traffic conditions.
    • Mountain Guide, who is registered under the jurisdiction of Sabah Parks Authority is compulsory for all mountain climbers. Majority of the mountain guide can only converse in basic English language.
    • Children below 15 years old must fill in the indemnity form upon registration at Park Headquarters.
    • Friendly Note from Sabah Parks: It is recommended that all climbers should have themselves medically checked before attempting any mountain climb. If you have a history of suffering from the following ailments, it is highly recommended that you should refrain from climbing: Hypertension, Diabetes, Palpitation, Arthritis, Heart disease, severe anaemia, Peptic ulcers, Epileptic fits, Obesity (overweight), Chronic asthma, Muscular cramps, Hepatitis (jaundice); or any other disease which may hamper the climber.
      The company reserves the right to change or cancel should conditions beyond our control render it necessary.

    • Certain parts of the tours on offer are provided by independent third parties, such as airlines, hotels, transport operators and local tourist offices. Diethelm Travel is therefore not responsible for any loss, injury or damage caused thereby to the tourists, including those occurring outside of the normal touring programmers.
