Program 1: Bagan – Mingun – Mandalay (October – January)
Stunning vistas, riveting lectures and captivating tours are all in store as the ship sets sail from Bagan – Mandalay, stopping at the awe-inspiring town of Mingun.

Program 2: Bagan – Myin Mu – Mandalay (January – March)
Uncover the hidden gems of the Ayeyarwady River, from the astounding temples of Bagan to the lesser-seen villages near Myin Mu.

BAGAN - AVA: October - January
Board the ship in Bagan. Those who arrive early can choose to explore the magnificent temple complex, either by mountain bike, horse and cart or hot-air balloon. As the ship sails towards Mandalay there are a variety of onboard activities for you to enjoy, including a fascinating lecture and an art exhibition. Relax by the pool on the Observation Deck, the largest outdoor space of any river cruise ship in Myanmar. Work out in the gym, or sample local infusions and delicacies in Burmese Tea Shop experience. In the evening, dine on Asian and Western specialties in the elegant Restaurant and gaze at the stars from the Observation Deck.

BAGAN - AVA: January - March
Board the ship at Bagan. Those who arrive early can choose to explore the magnificent temple complex, either by mountain bike, horse and cart or, at an additional supplement, hot-air balloon. As the ship begins its journey north, there are a variety of onboard activities for you to enjoy, including a fascinating lecture and an art exhibition. Relax by the pool on the Observation Deck, the largest outdoor space of any river cruise ship in Myanmar. Work out in the gym, or sample local infusions and delicacies in our Burmese Tea Shop. In the evening you are invited to wear a traditional sarong to our vibrant Longyi Cocktail Party.
BAGAN - MINGUN: October - January
There are a range of activities available this morning as your cruise continues. Take part in a sunrise yoga session, a meditation class, a Myanmar cookery demonstration, or a presentation by onboard doctor on his community projects. Arrive in Mingun and choose from two fascinating tours. Discover the nearby historical sites or join a walk through a rural village, meeting the locals. In the evening you are invited to wear a traditional sarong to our vibrant Longyi Cocktail Party on the Observation Deck.

BAGAN - MYIN MU: January - March
Arrive this morning in Myin Mu, a small riverside town 30 miles south of Mandalay. Meet your guides and take a trishaw tour, visiting a local market and teashops. You wll also learn about the area's typical cottage industries, such as slipper production and bamboo weaving. Return to the ship for lunch. After, disembark to explore the picture-perfect village of Alacapa. Get to know the locals, and witness a way of life barely touched by time. In the evening, dine on Asian and Western specialties in the elegant restaurant followed by traditional entertainment.
An early-bird breakfast is served in the Restaurant before you disembark from Belmond Road to Mandalay for your onward travel arrangements.

Notes:

  • All timings are approximate and should be used as a guide only

  • The rivers of Myanmar vary from season to season, with as much as a 30ft variance in water level. From January through June, the Ayeyarwady levels may drop, creating a narrower channel for navigation. To allow for these changes, Belmond Road to Mandalay may operate a revised itinerary and mooring locations may be amended.
