Khao Yai National Park spans over four provinces, which are Sara Buri, Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachin Buri, and Nakhon Nayok. Khao Yai is the first national park in Thailand, comprising mixed forest, rainforest, and meadows all 400 - 1,000 meters above sea level. There are more than 3,000 kinds of flowers, 250 kinds of birds, and 67 kinds of mammals like elephants, tigers, gibbons, deer, and boars up there.
At 08:00 am, leave the hotel near the national park and head to the park to explore the beauty of the national park. Before we start trekking in the primitive forests, we try to spot as many animals as possible along the road. With a bit of luck, possible sightings are Barking Deer, White-handed Gibbons, Hornbills, Macaques, Sambar Deer. Trekking through the lush evergreen forests lasts about 2-2 hours 30 minutes. Visitors will see a variety of plants and trees such as rattan, fig trees, eagle wood, etc, and then we head to the famous waterfall in the film "The Beach" to have a picnic lunch. After lunch it is time to explore the beauty of the waterfall. Late afternoon we head to the Lonely Cliff, a view point, to look out the highest mountain of the park and the beautiful surroundings around the park. And then return to the hotel about 05:00 pm.
