tour details

Bako National Park lies on a peninsula about 30 km north of Kuching, surrounded by the South China Sea and offers sceneries of exceptional beauty. Not only is this national park one of the smallest in Sarawak, but also one of the most interesting as it is well reviewed for its flora. An unusual blend of sandy beaches, rocky cliffs with special plant life on the plateaus including various carnivorous plants, mangroves and rich rainforest are waiting to be explored. Besides the amazing vegetation, the park is also home to various colourful bird species and animals, including the odd-nosed proboscis monkeys.

Pick-up from the city hotel in Kuching and travel by air-conditioned vehicle to the small Malay village of Bako, where you then venture on a 20 minutes' boat ride to the national park. After registration and check-in at the park, proceed for trekking. Get to see various animals, such as wild boars, silver leaf monkeys, macaques or monitor lizards. If you are lucky you might also spot the proboscis monkeys that can only be found on the island of Borneo. Please discuss with your guide about the trails that you wish to make, according to your interest.
For lunch you will be provided a packed lunch. Dinner will be served at the Bako canteen.
After dinner, you can choose to follow your guide on a night walk (subject to weather conditions).
