From Phnom Penh to Kratie, you’ll explore the Kingdom of Cambodia, a mysterious former jungle realm with fertile lands and friendly people. We’ll cross the Mekong River and head to a peaceful village along the bank to enjoy the diverse landscapes of the pretty countryside. We’ll head north to visit Wat Phnom Sambok and enjoy magnificent views from the hilltop. Along picturesque roads, we’ll stop at the best riverside vantage point to view the rare Irrawady River Dolphins. We’ll then take a ferry from Kratie to the island of Koh Trong in the middle of the Mekong River. The following morning, we’ll stop at a pepper plantation as well as a rubber plantation on our way to Kompong Cham. Here, we’ll visit the ancient temple of Wat Nokhor and tour the colonial architecture of Kampong Cham.

Depart from Phnom Penh to Neak Luong where you cross the Mekong River. Continue your journey to Prey Veng and Chhlong, a small and peaceful village on the Mekong River Bank with typical Khmer and Colonial architecture, and enjoy the diversity of landscapes of the surrounding pretty country side.
Lunch at local restaurant in Kratie.
North of Kratie, visit Wat Phnom Sambok to see the Buddhist monasteries and enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside from the hilltop. Further north along picturesque countryside roads stop at the best riverside vantage point from which to view the rare freshwater Irrawady River Dolphins which can be best seen late afternoon.
Drive back to Kratie and take a small ferry boat to the island of Koh Trong situated in the middle of the Mekong River opposite Kratie town.
Dinner at hotel.
Accommodation at Rajabori Villas (6 Rooms only) on Koh Trong Island.
Breakfast at hotel.
Take a ferry ride back to Kratie and depart by road to Kompong Cham. On the way to Kompong Cham stop at a pepper plantation and stop at Chhup, a rubber plantation first established in the region by the French tire maker Michelin.
Lunch at local restaurant in Kompong Cham.
Visit Wat Nokhor with its ancient temple and modern style pagoda (12th century) and tour of Kampong Cham to view examples of colonial architecture. Continue to Phnom Penh.
