A special family tour to give a real experience of and insight into the life of Vietnamese people in the cities as well as in the rural areas. The tour highlights include hands-on practice in handicraft making, a night in the untouched Bai Tu Long Bay aboard a wooden junk, homestay in Hoi An, exploring the ancient town and its surroundings on bike, and exploring the old charms of Saigon as well as the liveliness of this developing metropolis.

Meet your tour guide upon arrival at Hanoi airport and transfer to the hotel in the city centre (hotel check-in time is 14:00 hrs; early check-in is subject to room availability and a surcharge will apply)

Dinner tonight will be served at Quan An Ngon where a full array of traditional dishes are offered for your fist look and taste of the Vietnamese cuisine.

Have a half-day city tour in the morning. You will visit Ho Chi Minh memorial complex including the Mausoleum (closed on Monday, Friday and during the months of from September to November for annual maintenance) and his former residence (closed on Monday and Friday). Continue to visit the One-Pillar Pagoda. Laying to one side of the Mausoleum the pagoda was founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 and the lotus-like structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi.) Afterwards transfer to visit the Museum of Ethnology to learn about the Vietnam's large family of 54 ethnic minority groups where their housing, dresses, tools, rituals, toys are displayed and their customs and traditions told about.

Have lunch at KOTO (Know-One-Teach-One) restaurant, an establishment set up in support to underprivileged and street children.

In the afternoon, you will gain insight into Vietnamese culture by getting involved in making of some handicrafts with hands-on practice. Based on your interest you can pick one of those featured in the list:

In the evening, you will visit a local home and have dinner with the family.

After a warm welcome, you will be shown around the house and have the family's history told. You will see the family's ancestor altar and the room for worshipping. Your host will then invite you to dinner. The menu tonight includes traditional Vietnamese dishes
After dinner, have a chat with your hosts over a cup of traditional tea with local sweets. The family will explain Vietnamese Tea Culture and share personal memories with you. Don't hesitate to ask questions and take a group picture before returning to your hotel.

Have breakfast at the hotel then check out for a 4-hour drive to Halong City. Upon arrival, embark on an overnight cruise.

This two days one night cruise to untouched Bai Tu Long Bay is ideal for you to discover the natural beauty and local life in a limited time schedule. You will get to visit cave, go kayaking and visit a floating village. This trip takes you deep into natural wonder and experience a memorable night in the majestic bay.

Enjoy the morning bay scene with a cup of tea or coffee. More cruising in the morning and have lunch on-board as your boat weaves its way back to Halong pier. Upon disembarkation, pick up for transfer to Hanoi with a stopover in Yen Duc village, a tourism model that helps raise local people's income and improve their awareness of developing green tourism and tapping the traditional cultural traits of Vietnamese villages. Enjoy a water puppet show with some local snacks and then continue driving to Hanoi airport for the flight to Danang

Upon arrival at Danang airport, pick up and transfer to your homestay in Hoi An. Check in and have time at leisure

Today you will have a biking day in Hoi An.
Try a ride by the public ferry crossing Hoai River. Enjoy a beautiful view of the Hoi An town's riverfront from the boat. Disembark at the Kim Bong tourist boat pier, have a look at the local wooden boat building enterprise, then cycle on through the village with visit to some carpentry workshop. Take the public ferry back to Hoi An town. Cycle on to visit Thanh Ha pottery village on the edge of the ancient town. Watch the local artisans preparing the clay, forming their products and see the traditional kilns still in use.

Continue cycling along picturesque country roads outside Hoi An to a local farm in Tra Que vegetable village, a charming little farming community on the edge of Hoi An. Tra Que village was named after the sweet scented vegetables that spice up local dishes. Upon arrival, take a short tour around the vegetable gardens and watch the farmers in preparing and fertilizing the land. Have lunch in Tra Que and then cycle back to the ancient town. Visit the old merchant houses, the Chinese community halls and the Japanese covered bridge.

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Danang Airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh airport, you will be picked up and transfer to your hotel.

In the afternoon, have an orientation tour of the old quarter with the city landmarks dating back to its colonial past: the Notre Dame Cathedral inaugurated in 1880 which became the spiritual and cultural crucible of the French presence in the Orient as was the Post office designed by Gustav Eiffel and resembling a grand railway station. Have a photo stop at the former Presidential Palace, renowned for its symbolic role in the fall of Saigon in 1975 and stroll the colourful Ben Thanh Market

In the evening, you will have chance to experience the nightlife of Saigon the way locals do, all from the back of a vintage Vespa scooter.
The tour will start with a ride to part Chinatown and then heading to District 4 through busy streets and alleys to see the night life of locals and enjoy street sea-food and cold drinks, places that foreigners would hardly venture to. Leave district 4 for district 3 through downtown district 1 to a famous Banh Xeo shop to enjoy the specialty of Saigon, and southern food with the locals. Then continue to a hidden Vietnamese-style coffee shop to have a taste of Vietnamese music. Afterward venture to a lively bar to enjoy drinks along with live music.

Today you will have a full-day tour of fun at Dai Nam Van Hien Theme Park, a tourism complex in Binh Duong Province, just a short drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Opened on September 11, 2008, this Tourist - Cultural - Historical Zone encompasses a shopping centre, hotel, movie theatre, theme park, campground, water park, zoo, numerous temples, the first safari in Vietnam and the largest artificial sea in Southeast Asia. The Park main gate admission fee is included but the games or thrills inside are at your own choice and at your own account

Today you will have a full-day tour to the Mekong Delta with Cai Be Princess.

After breakfast, take a 2.5 hour drive to Cai Be. Upon arrival, embark on the Cai Be Princess boat, a comfortable sampan built in traditional style. The tour will begin with cruising through the floating market in Cai Be along the "Mighty Mekong". A delicious lunch will be served at Le Longanier, a superb Indochinese villa located in a lush tropical garden by the river.

After lunch, your sampan will proceed to Dong Hoa Phu canal, passing several islands famous for their fruit orchards. Stops on the way can be made at An Binh Ancient Church or at Tam Ho Bonsai Garden before returning to Ho Chi Minh City
