On 2 September Saigon Railways unveiled a newly renovated car on the SPT8 train running from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet, right on time for the country’s national day celebration and the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s North-South railway line. The interior of the car resembles that of an aircraft with 56 reclining seats, each of which is equipped with a reading light, air-conditioner control and USB charging outlets. The toilets are also outfitted with modern amenities.
Additionally, a sleeper car with environmentally friendly composite berths will start service soon featuring LED lights, windows with high-quality sunshades and washing basins with infrared sensors. Travellers in this car will enjoy a safe and smooth experience since it employs Japanese shock absorbers and dampers.
