new Laos-Cambodia border crossing to enhance tourism

Laos and Cambodia opened a new crossing border to facilitate tourism and trade on 10 January connecting Cambodia’s Stung Treng province with Laos’ Champasak province. The Cambodian prime minister presided over the inauguration ceremony of the international border checkpoint alongside his Laotian counterpart, Thongloun Sisoulith. He said, “The bilateral development of the checkpoint’s infrastructure will lead to an increase in commercial activity at the border, it will also promote the flow of international tourists and the exchange of agricultural products while strengthening the overall relations of people living along the border.”
