Siem Reap, Cambodia

A former family home nearby the Siem Reap River rebuilt into a 27-room contemporary hotel, Riversoul Residence is homage to childhood memories and what it means to grow up in one of Cambodia’s historic waterways.

Original works of art by local and Siem Reap-based artists made from old repurposed parts of the family’s old house and possessions dot the rooms and the hotel grounds, providing a glimpse of the ebbs and flows of their personal history as well as of the city in itself through a contemporary art museum setting, yet capturing the essence of their home.
