The Knai Bang Chatt resort is situated in the quaint little fishing village of Kep, which is off the shoreline of
southern Cambodia. In the early 20th century, the French colonials built high-end “get-away” retreats in Kep but after they left, this sanctuary became a well kept secret.
The name of the property, Knai Bang Chatt, refers to the rainbow aureole encircling the sun, which can be
incredibly strong, almost blinding in Cambodia. In Buddhist symbolism, this mystic halo provides divine protection and is depicted by the cord that fastens the hair of a deity into a bun.
