Bangkok Airways launches new direct flight from Bangkok to Phu Quoc, Vietnam

Bangkok Airways launched a direct air route from Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok to Phu Quoc International Airport in Vietnam’s Kien Giang province on 29 October 2017. Bangkok Airways will use ATR 72-600 aircraft on the route with a frequency of four flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Phu Quoc has often been named one of the most beautiful Asian islands to visit with Bai Dai Beach on the island ranked as one of the leading five most beautiful “hidden beaches” in the world by Australia’s ABC News.

The island is described as a peaceful tropical paradise and a must-visit destination in Vietnam. It is famous for its beautiful beaches, fishing, diving and watching coral. Phu Quoc is well connected with international airports, home to luxurious resorts and foreign visitors can easily enjoy 30 day visa-free stay.

According to Kien Giang’s provincial Department of Tourism, Phu Quoc Island has received more than 2.26 million visitors in the first nine months of this year, up 8.8% over the same period last year, including more than 242,000 foreign visitors.
